Mécaniques actives
La plupart des armes à distance permettent de tirer des projectiles, tandis que d'autres profitent de la mécanique de hit-scan (toucher où l'on vise). Ces armes infligent toutes deux des dégâts à distance. Les capacités des armes à distance varient, mais leurs projectiles ne peuvent toucher qu'un ennemi la plupart du temps, à moins que le projectile ne crée une explosion ou ne soit perçant (e.g.
et ).Échelonnage des effets
Toutes les armes à distance s’échelonnent sur la Tactique, mais certaines d’entre elles peuvent s’échelonner avec la
Brutalité (e.g et ) ou avec la
Survie (e.g et ), ce qui signifie que l’arme s’échelonnera sur la stat la plus haute.
Munitions
Certaines armes à distance utilisent des munitions qui se rechargent automatiquement après une courte période. Les munitions plantées sur les ennemis prennent bien plus de temps pour se retirer, à moins qu'il ne soit tué ou que le joueur effectue un contre parfait sur l'ennemi en question. Il existe cependant certaines armes à munitions dont celles-ci ne restent pas dans l'ennemi.
La plupart des armes à distance peuvent avoir un modificateur augmentant leur nombre de munitions. Les armes à distances sans munitions peuvent frapper sans restrictions.
